An opportunity has arisen within the Vicariate for Schools and Colleges based at the Liverpool Archdiocesan Centre for Evangelisation.

Diocesan Schools Officer. Required from 1st September 2013. Salary £50,592.00 per annum. Full time, 35 hours per wee (A job share may be considered). 25 days holiday, pension and salary exchange schemes

Reporting to the Director of Schools and Colleges, the successful candidate will contribute to a professional team, providing advice and supporting headteachers, school governors and clergy across approximately 240 schools and colleges in the Diocese. Applicants must be a practising Roman Catholic with a commitment to the work undertaken by the Department. The successful applicant must have;

  • Qualified teacher status to degree level or equivalent
  • Substantial experience at headship level or comparable leadership role
  • Recent working knowledge of catholic schools and school improvement strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with Governing Bodies, Headteachers and Clergy
  • A proven ability to use own initiative, respond to tasks in creative ways and working to strict deadlines
