Little Church

At our Family Mass every Sunday morning at 10am, we have our own LITTLE CHURCH! At the beginning of  the Mass the Children are invited to go with our Catechists. They then listen to and share the Gospel. Please try to come along and Encourage your child to join us!

Found in church on Sunday 28th July, a ladies black Jacket, possibly left after one of the Baptisms. All enquiries to the office.

The Scripture Group

Our Scripture Group meet every Wednesday at  7.30pm in the presbytery. The next meeting is on 11th September. All are welcome, so please come along.

Foodbank

Many thanks to those who continue to contribute to our Foodbank Appeal, you are all so very generous.  We are still collecting and need your help! Food can be dropped off at the priests house. All this food goes out to  people in our community!

Best Care of the Dying Patient Conference

Monday 14th October, 2.00pm-4.30pm OR 7.00pm-9.30pm at LACE

We all want our frail relative and friends to receive the best possible care when their time comes to leave this world and go to our Father, but what does this mean in practice? This short conference is an opportunity to listen to Catholic doctors who care for dying patients and to consider the practical, moral and spiritual issues they face. If you would like to attend, please put your name and contact details on the form at the back of church, indicating whether you would like to go to the afternoon or the evening session.

Date for your diary

Come and join our Charity 7k walk ‘Woofs and Wellies’ specially designed for dogs and their owners. A unique opportunity to support your local charity – Woodlands Hospice. A beautiful walk through picturesque Croxteth Park in West Derby, starting at 12noon (register at 11am) on Sunday 22nd September 2013. £5 entry per dog plus a minimum of £50.00 sponsorship. (Toy dogs/teddys are  welcome) Goody bags will be given out on the day. Baptism Meeting

The next Baptism Preparation Meeting is on Wednesday 2nd October at 7pm in the Presbytery. Baptism Preparation Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month (except January) unless otherwise stated in the newsletter.

An opportunity for prayer & reflection at St. Christopher’s Church, Lorenzo Drive on Wednesday 25th September 2013. Please drop in anytime between 7 – 9pm and stay for as long as you wish. If you would like to lead a half an hour slot of prayer, reflection & silence please contact Philip Burman on (0151) 226 1637.

Rosary at St Swithin’s Cemetery

The Legion of Mary are having the Rosary in St Swithin’s cemetery on Friday 13th September at 7.30pm at the statue of our Lady of Fatima. The Rosary is said on the 13th of each month from May to October. All are welcome.

Debt Advice Service

Every Tuesday we hold a debt advice service in the Priests house from 10am to 2pm. Unfortunately a lot of people are under financial pressure these days, but there is help and support available. If you feel you would benefit from some advice or have some questions about debt or financial issues, do please drop in or ring 270 1688 to arrange an appointment.

Eucharistic Ministers

Could you please contact the office as soon as possible if you would like to change your Mass, the new rota will be available in the next few weeks. Can all ministers please make sure that they fill in a Eucharistic Ministers Information form with your contact details etc (even if they are unchanged). The forms were given out this weekend just gone at all Masses. If you did not receive a form please let Denise know or contact the office. It is very important that all Ministers complete a form as we need to update our records before we can compile a new and complete rota.

St Teresa’s Church football team

Congratulations to our newly formed St Teresa’s Church football team who have just joined the Merseyside Christian League. The team recorded a 5 nil win against Mossley Hill Churches in their first game!! Goal Scorers were Deaglan McKillop (3), Josh Roberts (1) and Jeff King(1)!! More news on this exciting new venture in next weeks newsletter!
