Newsletter

Are you thinking of becoming a Catholic?

If you, or anyone you know, think you might like to join the Catholic community, or to receive Sacraments you missed out on as a child, you would be very welcome at our Journey in Faith group, which will begin again in the priests’ house at 7.00pm on Tuesday 8th October. Our meetings are relaxed and informal, just for an hour or so, and you will meet others who are at similar stages on their journey as well as some Catholics who will accompany you on your journey. Coming along to the first meeting doesn’t commit you to joining the group: you can just come and see what it’s like.

Please contact the parish office if you would like to know more about this.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

Could you please contact the office as soon as possible if you would like to change your Mass, the new rota will be available in the next few weeks. Can ALL MINISTERS please make sure that they fill in a Eucharistic Ministers Information form with your contact details etc (even if they are unchanged). Forms will be available again this weekend, if you do not receive a form please let Denise know or contact the office. It is very important that all Ministers complete a form as we need to update our records before we can compile a new and complete rota.

Breaking News

As reported in last week’s newsletter, our parish have entered a football team in the Merseyside Christian League.  To play in this league the team has to be affiliated to a Church and all players have to sign a statement of Christian belief. After the first league game when we beat Mossley Hill Churches 5 – 0, the team then went on to draw 3 – 3 with Chill Eagles.  Goal Scorers were John Roberts (2) and Jeff King (1). The team will play in the colours of St. Teresas, Green, and the home pitch will be on Scargreen playing fields.  After many phone calls and meetings, this has now been secured, which will mean an additional pitch being made.  This will be of benefit to our local community.  Many thanks to Mick Fitzgerald for his support in this. The core number of the team have to be committed Christians and are encouraged to become a more involved in their worshipping community, before each game a prayer is said. Saturday 28th September at the 6 p.m. Mass will give you the chance to meet them as they will be involved in the Liturgy, they will also be serving cheese & wine at the back of Church after the Mass. Thanks to Fr. Chris for his encouragement and support in this exciting new venture.
