Remembering our loved ones

During the month of November, we have at least three ways of remembering our loved ones who have died. We can put their names into a November Dead list envelope so that they will be remembered at all Masses celebrated in St Teresa’s during the month of November. November Dead List envelopes will  be available at the back of church, please note that these names are NOT called out at the Bereaved Mass. If we haven’t already done so, we can add their names to the Book of Remembrance on the anniversary of their death (contact the parish office to find out how to do this).

Each year we also have a special Mass for the Bereaved, celebrated this year on the 17th November at 6pm, when we remember especially those who have died during the past year. During this Mass these names are called out and a member of their family invited to come forward and light a candle in their memory. The names of all those whose funerals were celebrated in our church during the last year are automatically on the list, (the names of loved ones who have recently died from other parishes may be added by filling in a purple slip found at the back of church). After the names have been read out anyone else who wishes to light a candle in memory of their loved ones will then be invited to do so.

Visitation

Bishop Tom Williams will be visiting all the parishes in our pastoral area during the next few weeks. We will welcome him here for all three Masses on the  16th – 17th November. He will also be visiting St Teresa of Lisieux primary school on Friday 15th November.

Journey in Faith

Our little group for people who are thinking of becoming Catholics has moved its meeting time to 5.00pm on Sundays, just before the Mass at 6.00pm. If you know anyone who would like to join us, please encourage them to get in touch through the parish office.

Fr Chris’s research

If you have been wondering what Fr Chris was doing all those times when he went away to work on his research, you can find out after the 10.00am Mass next Sunday, 10th November. Starting at 11.15am in the Parish Centre with a glass of wine or a cup of tea or coffee to welcome you, Fr Chris will give a brief presentation of the main themes of his thesis, entitled ‘Who do we think we are? A study of the self-understandings of priests in the Archdiocese of Liverpool’, there will be some time for questions, and the session will end by 12.45pm.

St Teresa’s Football Team

Unfortunately our football team had to miss yesterdays mass. They will now come to the Saturday Mass at 6pm on 16th November when Bishop Tom will be here. Once again they will be involved in the liturgy and then serving cheese and wine afterwards. Please come along and show your support.

Mass

Please pray for all those who are lonely or housebound, for those who are sick, at home or in hospital, and all those visited by our Eucharistic Ministers. Your prayers are asked for those who have died recently and for those whose anniversaries occur about this time. May they rest in peace.
