Parish Pilgrimage to Medjugorje

A joint pilgrimage for St Teresa’s and St Wilfrid’s  parishes will be made to Medjugorje, in Bosnia/ Herzegovina on 2nd—9th October 2014 through Joe Walsh Tours. (see poster at the back of Church). The cost of the week-long pilgrimage is £499pp for two sharing a room. This includes flights from Manchester to Dubrovnik; transfers from the airport to Medjugorje; half board accommodation in a guesthouse close to St. James’ Church; full religious programme and the services of a Joe Walsh Tour representative, plus guided tours of the apparition sites. (single rooms are subject to availability and will be limited, a supplement of £112 will apply) NOTE: There is a £100 reduction in the cost for those who can pay the full amount by the beginning of December 2013 i.e. £399. payments can be made by cheque/credit card/ cash etc. Numbers are limited and so anyone interested is advised to contact Denise Pursall on 0151 474 1984 as soon as possible to reserve a place. The Parish Priests from both churches will accompany the group – Fr Chris Fallon, St Teresa’s and Fr Andrew Unsworth, St Wilfred’s, as Spiritual Directors.

Remembering our loved ones – Bereavement mass

Our special Mass for the Bereaved will be celebrated next Sunday, 17th November at 6pm. This is when we remember especially those who have died during the past year. During this Mass these names are called out and a member of their family invited to come forward and light a candle in their memory.

The names of all those whose funerals were celebrated in our church during the last year are automatically on the list, (the names of loved ones who have recently died from other parishes may be added by filling in a purple slip found at the back of church). After the names have been read out anyone else who wishes to light a candle in memory of their loved ones will then be invited to do so. During the month of November, we have at least three ways of remembering our loved ones who have died. We can put their names into a November Dead list envelope so that they will be remembered at all Masses celebrated in St Teresa’s during the month of November. November Dead List envelopes will  be available at the back of church, please note that these names are NOT called out at the Bereaved Mass.

Finally, if we haven’t already done so, we can add their names to the Memorial Book that we have in church (contact the parish office to find out how to do this).
