“Marriage & Family Life”
There will be a special Mass with Bishop Tom Williams on Sunday 16th February 2014 at 11am in the Metropolitan Cathedral. All are welcome to attend this joy filled happy celebration.
Calling all readers
Proclaiming the Word at Mass is a vital ministry in our community and all our readers can grow in the skill and understanding they bring to it, but it’s a long time since any formation was offered to our readers. Our pastoral area has decided to provide a session of prayer, reflection, input and practical training for readers in each parish during February. We hope that all our readers, and anyone who would like to begin reading at Mass, will take this opportunity. The session here at St Teresa’s is on Saturday 15th February, 10.00am-12.00pm. If that is not convenient, please attend one of the sessions in the other parishes, which are at different times and dates given on the sign-up sheet at the back of church.
Preparing for Baptism
If you wish your child to be baptised before the end of March, please come along to the presbytery at 7.00pm this Wednesday, 5th February. Our new Baptism team will be waiting to welcome you, to rejoice with you and to support you at this exciting and important stage in your family’s journey of faith.
Walking through Lent with Pope Francis
A resource has been prepared to help us reflect, during the first five weeks of Lent, on the Sunday Gospels and on themes from Pope Francis’s Exhortation, The Joy of the Gospel. If you would be prepared to host a group at the same time (morning, afternoon or evening) in each of those five weeks (in your home, in the presbytery or elsewhere), please see Fr. Chris or Sr. Teresa or contact the parish office. We hope to have groups at several different times so that many people will be able to join in the reflection and discussion.
A gift for Cardinal Vincent Nichols
In thanksgiving for the service Archbishop Nichols has given to Liverpool and to the wider church, and to mark his appointment as Cardinal, a collection will be taken this weekend for the charity he helped to found for the suffering church in the birthplace of Jesus: Friends of the Holy Land. The proceeds will be presented to Cardinal Vincent at a Mass in our cathedral at 3.00pm on Sunday 15th March to which we are all invited.
Have you bought your copy of the “The Joy of the Gospel” yet? We are down to the last few copies in our shop. Remember we stock a wide range of other religious items, all much cheaper than town! Call in to the shop after Mass and have a look.
