Piety Shop

40 copies of The Joy of the Gospel sold out straight away. If you would like a copy please tell us so we know how many more to order.  Remember we stock a wide range of other religious items, all much cheaper than town! Call in to the shop after Mass and have a look.

More Hosts Wanted

12 people who have volunteered to host groups during the first five weeks of Lent, using Walking through Lent with Pope Francis to reflect on the Sunday Gospels and on themes from Pope Francis’s Exhortation, The Joy of the Gospel, but we want more! We want to have enough groups so that everyone can join in. If you would be prepared to host a group at the same time (morning, afternoon or evening) in each of those five weeks (in your home, in the presbytery or elsewhere), please see Fr Chris or Sr Teresa or contact the parish office. This is a chance to respond to Pope Francis’ call: ‘Every Christian is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in evangelization… So what are we waiting for?’

The Christmas Truce

How should we remember the centenary of the outbreak of World War One? The archdiocesan Justice and Peace Commission invite you to an evening at Our Lady’s Portico, L34 2QT on Tuesday 18th February from 7-9 to reflect on this question.  There will be a short film “Days that shook the World – the Christmas truce”, followed by structured conversation and suggestions for actions. For more information ring: 0151 522 1080 or email s.atherton@rcaol.co.uk

Food and Faith

Steve Atherton, the Archdiocesan Fieldworker for Justice and Peace, will be giving a talk entitled Food and Faith to the Newman Association at 7.30p.m. on Thursday 20th February, at St. Helen’s Parish Centre, Alexandra Road, Crosby, L23 7TQ. All are welcome.

Cathedral Mass to celebrate Family Life

Two families from our parish will be taking part in the annual Mass to celebrate Family Life, at 11.00am on Sunday 16th February, in the Cathedral. It would be good if some of our parish community went along to support them in this witness to the importance of family life.

Calling all readers

There is still time for our readers, or anyone wanting to become a reader, to sign up for the formation being offered in our pastoral area during February. The session here at St Teresa’s is on Saturday 15th February, 10.00am-12.00pm. If that is not convenient, please attend one of the sessions in the other parishes, which are at different times and dates given on the sign-up sheet at the back of church.

Preparing for Baptism

Many thanks to our new Baptism team who met over 30 families at the meeting this week! Over the next few weeks we will be welcoming those children at the Sunday Masses. The next preparation meeting will be at 7.00pm on Wednesday 5th March, for those families planning their Baptisms before the end of April.
