Musicians Wanted

At the 10.00am Mass on three Sundays in June, 8th, 15th and 22nd, we will be celebrating the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist with families and their children and we are short of musicians for these celebrations. If you can play the guitar well enough to accompany the simple hymns they will sing (or any other instrument that will complement the singing) or if you can help in leading the singing, and you can be available for one or more of those Sunday Masses, please see Fr Chris or give your details to Annie in the Parish office. We’re also looking for musicians and singers to enhance the musical resources for all our Masses, so any volunteers available at other times will be most welcome, but our most urgent concern at present is those three Sunday mornings in June.

Summer Fayre

Fr Terry will soon be having a Summer Fayre in aid of the homeless shelter he supports in Crewe. If you have any unwanted gifts or other good quality items that you can donate for this very worthy cause then please drop them off at the office.

Northern Catholic Conference

This years Northern Catholic Conference will be held at Liverpool Hope University from Friday June 13th – Sunday 15th. Outstanding speakers – Sir Peter Fahy, Grace Nowakowska, David Wells, Fr Pat Collins, Kristina Cooper and Fr Pat Deegan and others. For those seeking accommodation, the cost is £155 per person for the whole weekend (£60 for under 18 if with a parent or guardian). Day visitors most welcome but requested to pre-register. Please see the details on – including how to book. Tel the booking line 07543 800812.

No winner of the Jackpot of £537(subject to re scrutiny). Estimated Jackpot for the next draw is £797. Many thanks to all who support our Parish Lottery and to the team who run it for us. Your support is really appreciated!

Quarant ‘Ore—40 hours (24th May—26th May)

Next weekend we will have our 40 hours of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, from the end of the 6.00pm Mass on Saturday until before the 10.00am Mass on Sunday, then from the end of the 6.00pm Mass on Sunday right through until the closing Mass at 8.00pm on Monday. Please take some time to come and deepen your relationship with the Lord and to pray for your own needs and those of others. There is a display at the back of church where you can sign up for a specific time, dedicate a candle, or make a donation towards the flowers. There is also a petitions book at the back of church. If you would like prayers to be said on your behalf for whatever reason then write it in the petitions book and our team will pray for your intentions during the devotions.
In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the First World War we will start each of the 40 hours with a prayer for peace. At 11am on the Monday we will say prayers for all who have died as a result of all wars. If you have lost a loved one during any war or conflict please write their name in the petitions book and we will mention them in the prayers. Pope Benedict XVI said ‘Receiving the Eucharist means adoring the One whom we receive… in this way we become one with him… only in adoration can profound and true acceptance develop.’

We are delighted to welcome Thomas Tasker, Rachel Wood, Anthony Wood and Emily Karla Rojas Wightman who were Baptised into our faith community last weekend.

The door is always open! Come and join us!
