Liverpool Archdiocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage Association.

Departure Mass for the Lourdes Pilgrimage is Sunday 19th July at 3pm in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King. All are welcome. There are copies of the Novena of prayers for the pilgrimage week available at the back of our church for you to take home.

VATICAN II

2015 marks the 50th Anniversary of the closing of one of the most significant religious events of the twentieth century: Vatican II. To mark this, and to keep the conciliar spirit alive, the Archbishop, through the various diocesan agencies will be hosting:

1.‘Receiving Vatican II’ A series of six talks given by experts on aspects of the reception of Vatican II.  These talks will take place in September-October 2015 at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. No booking is required. Please see the poster at the back of church for further information.

2.’Vatican II and the Church Today’ A weekend conference featuring internationally renowned speakers exploring the continuing impact of the teaching of the Second Vatican Council in the life and mission of both the local and global Church.  Featured speakers include authority on Vatican II,  Dr Massimo Faggioli, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor and Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP.

The weekend takes place 14-15 November at the Liverpool Archdiocesan Centre for Evangelisation.  Places must be booked in advance, on a first come first served basis. Early booking is strongly recommended.

“Come & See 2015” with Sr Helen Prejean whose story was told in the film ‘Dead Man Walking’. If you haven’t booked for this year’s Come & See Conference don’t hesitate. The input is always challenging and encouraging, the workshops lively and engaging. The music and liturgy is always moving and inspiring. This years’ conference will be held at Christ the King High School Southport on the 3rd and 4th October.
