Responding to the Call – Vocation Discernment Group

To support those exploring Vocations to the Priesthood in our diocese, a monthly day of recollection has been organised for the first Saturday of each month. These days will help men who feel called to ordained ministry to discover more about diocesan priesthood and meet others discerning a call to priesthood. There will be an opportunity to talk with and hear from priests who minister in the diocese, and also a time for prayer and discussion.

The next day of recollection will take place on Saturday 1st August at St. Charles’

Presbytery, 224 Aigburth Road, Liverpool.

For further information, please contact Fr James Preston, Vocations Director for the Archdiocese of Liverpool, at frjamespreston@gmail.com or telephone: 0151 727 2493. Regular updates will be posted on our Facebook page: Archdiocese of Liverpool Vocations

SVP  (St Vincent de Paul) two thank you`s from the SVP to

St Teresa`s parishioners.

The SVP would like to thank all parishioners from St Teresa`s who bought one of the photographs from the recent Quarant`ore. St Teresa`s raised £46 from these photographs and this money will be used by your local SVP to support St Teresa`s parishioners. Our thanks also go to Terry Graham who suggested the SVP receive the money donated from the Quatant`ore. A continued massive thank you to everyone who donated old (and new shoes) to the SVP shoes appeal. The response has been over whelming and the SVP cannot thank the parishioners from St Teresa`s enough.

Catholic Herald – In this week’s issue there is an article

“ Proclaim ‘15:How the Church is serving the poor in our midst” discussing the dire situation many people, through no fault of their own are now finding themselves in, written by our own Fr Chris!

“Those who cannot earn enough to feed themselves and their families are supposed to receive benefits provided by the taxes of those who are better off. So why is it not working?”
