First Friday Vigil

Beginning with Mass at 8.30pm on Friday, 4th August, and continuing in prayer until 11.30pm, this is a wonderful time to be with God our Father, opening ourselves to experience his love and praying for all our needs. All are very welcome to join us.

Happy Birthday Don Bosco!

A special Mass followed by a social will be held in Our Lady Queen of Martyr’s church to celebrate the 200th birthday of St John Bosco on Friday 4th September at 7pm. All are welcome, especially any former pupils of  both St John Bosco and Mary Help of Christians schools.

WELCOME – We are delighted to welcome Josh David Doyle, Louie Dennis Doyle, Maisie Mae Cardus and Ella Rose Cardus who were all Baptised into our faith community last weekend.

Congratulations to Kate Burns & Mark Boothroyd and Daniel Royle & Clare Andrew who were married in our church last weekend. We wish you all every happiness in your future lives together.

Responding to the Call – Vocation Discernment Group

To support those exploring Vocations to the Priesthood in our diocese, a monthly day of

recollection has been organised for the first Saturday of each month. These days will help men who feel called to ordained ministry to discover more about diocesan priesthood and meet others discerning a call to priesthood. There will be an opportunity to talk with and hear from priests who minister in the diocese, and also a time for prayer and discussion.

The next day of recollection will take place on Saturday 5th September at St. Charles’ Presbytery, 224 Aigburth Road, Liverpool.

For further information, please contact Fr James Preston, Vocations Director for the Archdiocese of Liverpool, at frjamespreston@gmail.com or telephone: 0151 727 2493.     Regular updates will be posted on our Facebook page: Archdiocese of Liverpool Vocations.
