Year of Mercy Confessathon

Pope Francis is calling the whole church to celebrate a Year of Mercy beginning on December 8th. He wants us all to know and receive the mercy of God, especially through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and he also wants us to show mercy to others, especially to the poor, the sick, and those who have been hurt by the Church in any way. There will be all kinds of opportunities during this year, but to start it off you are invited to a Day of Mercy at Blessed Sacrament, Aintree on Saturday 12th December: from 10.00am to 4.00pm there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and the priests of our Pastoral Area will take turns to hear Confessions. This will replace the regular confession times that day. Come and start the year by being forgiven so you can spend the rest of it forgiving others.

First Friday Vigil  – Beginning with Mass at 8.30pm on Friday, 4th December and continuing in prayer until 11.30pm, this is a wonderful time to be with God our father, opening ourselves to experience his love and praying for all our needs. All are very welcome to join us.

WELCOME we are delighted to welcome Katie Jennifer Almond, Daniel Leonard Alan Taylor, Catherine Fotini Marinakis and Kiki Mooney who were all Baptised into our Faith Community recently.

Preparing for Baptism  The next meeting will be at 7.00pm on Wednesday 2nd December 2015 for those families planning to have a child Baptised (you do not need to bring the child to the meeting).

Pick up a form from the priests house to fill in, please make sure that you bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate to the meeting.

FOUND

A piece of jewellery which looks to be of sentimental value. Ask at the office for details.

FOUND  –  Can the lady who rang enquiring about lost glasses please go to the piety shop? A pair have now turned up that may be yours.

Socks Appeal  –  Throughout the Advent Season The Friends of St Eugene are organising a sock collection for the homeless. It would be really appreciated if every one could bring in just one pair of new socks and put them in the box at the back of church. They will then be given to the Whitechapel centre to be distributed to those who need them.

SVP (St Vincent de Paul)

There will be an SVP retiring collection on the weekend of 12/13 December 2015. The SVP is now active in the parish and supporting our local community. Many thanks for supporting the SVP.

Carol Concert  –  After last years success we will again have a traditional Christmas Carol Concert here in St Teresa’s on Thursday 17th December at 7.30pm. All proceeds raised will go to the Whitechapel Centre. See the poster at the back of church for details. Tickets £4 from the piety shop or the parish office.
