Tuesday 15th December 2015 10:00am in church.

All welcome!

Well done to all the very talented pupils from our primary school, St Teresa of Lisieux  and from Northcote School who took part in the Christmas performance on Thursday! The choirs were brilliant, the musicians in the brass band and orchestras all played beautifully. You were fantastic and should all be very proud of yourselves.

Gaudete Sunday

Gaudete Sunday is the third Sunday of Advent in the liturgical calendar of the Western churches, including the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican

Communion, and liturgical Protestant churches. It can fall on any date from 11 December to 17 December. The Latin Gaudete is translated as Rejoice, the first word of the introit. The reference to joy, hope and optimism are dominant at this point in Advent. The lesson we can take from this is that Christians ought to be the most hopeful and cheerful of people, bringing both joy and peace into their homes and families, workplaces, and social circles.

The Living Word

A date for your 2016 diary: on Wednesday 13th January our Scripture Group will be returning after their Christmas break to start a four week course of exploring the story of God’s love and they really want to welcome some new members. Some of us might be on a diet after Christmas, but we need all the spiritual nourishment we can get. This four week course, led by the team from the Irenaeus project in Crosby, will build up our confidence in sharing the Word with each other. It will be a great way to enter into the Year of Mercy.

WELCOME – We are delighted to welcome  Rose Sarah Dixon & Freya Maria Dorries who were Baptised into our faith community last weekend.
