Liverpool Archdiocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage “A Place for All”
Our Aim is Simple. We will do all we can to make it possible. Each year our dedicated team of healthcare professionals and hospitalité team of volunteers help people to realise their hope of time spent at Our Lady’s Shrine. Whatever your needs, our expert team will do all they can to try and ensure that no physical, mental, personal or social needs hold anyone back from this life changing experience. Becoming a Dementia Friendly Parish
To help us understand what being a Dementia Friendly Parish means, we will be marking Dementia Prayer Week (12th-19th March) by offering two opportunities to attend an information session in the Parish Club, both on Tuesday 14th March, one at 2.00p.m.and the other at 7.00p.m. Each session will start with tea and coffee and will last no more than an hour.Please make a big effort for as many people as possible to become more aware of dementia and of how we can become A DEMENTIA FRIENDLY PARISH.
Reflection on the Care of the Sick and Dying
All our Eucharistic Ministers, Bereavement Teams and Funeral Ministers are invited to a morning of reflection on Care for the Sick and Dying on Saturday 11th March, 10.00am-1.00pm, in the extended and refurbished Russell Room at St Philomena’s Church, Sparrow Hall Road, L9 6BU. It will be led by Mgr Peter Fleetwood and Fr Steve Cooper from the Chaplaincy Team at Aintree University Hospital and will include information about how the Catholic community supports the sick and the dying and their families at home and in our local hospitals. The morning will end with the celebration of Mass and those who attend will receive a booklet of prayers and resources for use with the sick and the dying.

(St Vincent de Paul) support the parish in many ways, if you are in need or are aware of a family who may need help please do not hesitate to contact the SVP on 07763429896. The SVP will always do a quick home visit to see how they can help. There will be a 2nd collection for the SVP NEXT weekend, 4/5 March.
Lent Reflection
The reflections for this year are from Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si, focusing on “CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME”.
The reflections will be lead by our Scripture Group on Wednesday evenings starting Ash Wednesday, 1st March at 7.30pm. Please join us, everyone is very welcome. Why not attend the sessions as one of your Lenten promises ?
Safe Families for Children
Next weekend Jenny Harding will be speaking at all our Masses about the way Safe Families works hand-in-hand with children’s services to link families in need with local volunteers who can offer them help and support. We hope that some people might feel able to volunteer as Family Friends, Host Families and Resource Friends to help while parents get back on their feet.
